Senior Accountant / Junior Financial Controller
Australia (Remote)

We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Junior Financial Controller to join our Finance team. This is a fully remote, full-time role, located in Australia and reporting to US based VP Finance.

For the first 6 months this role will provide maternity leave cover and report to the COO, while our VP Finance is on leave (training provided).

Responsibilities

· Supporting the Corporate Accountant, Invoicing Admin, CEO and COO

· Review month-end close for 5 companies and work with the Corporate Accountant to finalize and report results using Xero/Fathom to the leadership team and investors

· Day to day treasury, cashflow, AP/AR/Payroll management in both Australia and the USA

· Weekly meetings with the leadership team on AR/AP status

· Compliance oversight and management

· Human Resources onboarding and offboarding & payroll management in Australia and USA

· Supporting the Corporate Accountant, Invoicing Admin, CEO and COO

 

Requirements

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required

· CA/CPA Required

· Minimum 5 years experience in public practice/commerce in progressive roles

· Experienced with group consolidated reporting and intercompany transaction accounting/reconciliations

· Excellent understanding of Australian GST Regime and Statutory Financial Reporting (IFRS)

· Strong Financial Modelling / FP&A skills

· Strong Australian payroll, payroll tax, HR experience

· Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge, pivot tables, skills in manipulating and reconciling large volumes of data

 

Nice to Have

· Australian Registered Tax/BAS Agent desirable

· International Tax & R&D experience

· Insurance / technology / construction industry experience highly regarded

· Experience with Xero, Fathom, Gusto, Wise, Stripe

· US payroll, state and federal compliance knowledge/experience
